I modded my original Somo PEQ-15 with a diffuser lens to give the IR illuminator more spill. I posted it on social media and tagged Somogear. They liked it and they messaged me about being a tester for the PEQ-2. The unit they sent me was a pre-production. It would blink for a second or so under recoil and the zero wandered a bit.
I’ve seen a lot of Peq-2’s with corrosion. Use lithium or take the battery out if it’s a personal item. Idk why, maybe it’s heating and cooling of the battery when on a rifle, but I feel like batteries inside PEQ-2’s cause corrosion way faster and more often than any other regular item I’ve used alkaline batteries in.
the15 can be switched to illuminator only. The 2 must have the aimer on in conjuction with the illuminator but the aimer can be used alone on either model. the 15 has a crappy red laser aimer and a nice IR aimpeq 2er and IR illuminator. The 2 has only a nice IR aimer and IR illuminator the 15 uses a single 123 battery. the 2 uses two AA bateries
